Carolinas' Critter Sitters, LLC - Come home to HAPPY!
12/15/2011

I regret that it has become necessary for us to charge a fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be passed along directly to our pet sitters to help them with the burden of high fuel costs.

I devised our rates with the following costs in mind:
·         General Liability insurance
·         Bond insurance
·         Workers’ Compensation insurance
·         Credit card processing fees
·         Web site fees
·         Other miscellaneous costs
·         Pet sitter salaries

Our pet sitters are paid with travel costs in mind.  This sudden and high increase in gas directly affects their ability to afford to put gas in their vehicles.

Below is a schedule of how we will calculate fuel surcharges:

Price of Gas                      Fuel Surcharge
$2.75 or less                     $0
$2.76 through $3.20           $0.50
$3.21 through $3.50           $0.75
$3.51 through $3.75           $1.00
$3.76 through $4.00           $1.25
$4.01 through $4.25           $1.50

On the 1 of each month, I will look at the average Charlotte Area fuel costs through AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report.  Adjustments to the fuel surcharge will be made as follows:

·        Pet Sitting Appointments that begin in the previous month and end in the following month will remain at their current fuel surcharge rate because these appointments will have already been charged to your credit card.
·        Pet Sitting Appointments that do NOT bridge 2 months will be adjusted higher or lower based on the schedule above.

As of 12/1/2011, the average cost per gallon of gas in the Charlotte area is $3.30.  Therefore, all scheduled appointments that don’t bridge November and December, will see a reduction in the fuel surcharge from $1.00 per visit to $0.75 per visit.
